Disclaimer

Disclaimer is a separate page, as I feel I need to explain the content of this blog in relation to my work, voluntary work and other assignments, as well as the nature of my blog. I did not plan, nor expect to receive PR pitches so I think it’s time to present my views about the aim of this site.

I express my personal opinions here.

I am fortunate enough to work in areas of my interest – social media and non for profit sector. I am striving however to keep my personal views outside of venues associated with my current of past employers. Having worked in word of mouth marketing I still feel the need to avoid expressing my opinions about brands, unless I feel really strongly about them and my opinions do contribute to the general goals of this blog. I do not

I re-purpose content from other websites I publish on if they match the content of this site.

In many cases I post on platforms related to the topics of this blog. If I find my other posts interesting enough to share with the audience of this blog I will cross-post them here. I do my best to explain the original place, where the above mentioned post appeared first. (Global Voices post for instance)

I do not accept payments, presents nor will I post about news or campaigns not matching the content of this blog.

Yes, I had a problem with this in the past so I prefer to make it clear – please do not contact me with information unrelated to the topics (see categories) or this blog. Please consider that I am blogging when, what and how I feel it is suitable for my audience and goals of this place and I am not willing to place any content here that my readers might find as a confusing message. To give you more specific hints I am interested in:

  • interesting social media campaigns related to activism, ngo’s and non for profit sector;
  • blogging and usage of social media in general;
  • events related to social media and non for profit sector;
  • information and suggestions related to my voluntary commitments (Global Voices, Twestival, Barcamp Transparency);
  • arts, specifically photography;
  • interesting projects and information related to coffee.

I occasionally might take part in competitions, if they are not related to my work and do not interfere with the topics of this blog.

An agency has pointed out in the past that despite of my points I did take part in a competition. I believe that as long as it does not affect my content here and is not related to my work, I am free to do so. It should not be taken as an implication to pitch me with any competition though – I will get involved in what I find interesting, probably related to my hobbies and passions.

Thank you in advance for reading and respecting those points!:)

Please note that I am at any time more than happy to discuss those points, so if you have any comments or suggestions drop me an e-mail at sylwiapresley[at]gmail.com.
