Twitter election 08 - Hitler, Bush
Monday, October 27, 2008 at 11:39AM
I have been following the discussion on Twitter election 08 just a little bit, but today in the morning hot election topic was HITLER.

Few minutes later, Bush joined him.

The connection between two historical personalities has been flagged up by social media since few months now, but it's interesting to see it coming up on Twitter in current elections too. The photo I used for this post was taken from this blog, when Robin Aitken's book about BBC was about to be published. There is more though. And it all scares me! Even whole blog comminted to the topics: Bush is Hitler. In September 2004 Guardian was posting about Bush's possible connection to Nazi movement: 'George Bush's grandfather, the late US senator Prescott Bush, was a director and shareholder of companies that profited from their involvement with the financial backers of Nazi Germany'.
So why do I write about it? Because I was in Auschwitz three times and I still cannot accept what has happened. Because I do not find it appropriate to see swastika on a price quotes on a bookshelf in Budapest (will try to dig out a photo of it). And I do not like seeing Hitler's name mentioned in connection to current politics. It simply terrifies me.
Maybe it's just me:P What do you think?
