Think3 post: Their Stories: Put yourself on this map

This idea was mentioned in the interview I posted earlier: Just Giving and iPadio are currently working on a beta version of the website which hopes to map out all the charities and fundraisers in the UK.

If you are a charity, you will need to call the project number with the following information:

    1. "Where your charity is based

    2. Who you are

    3. What your charity's name is

    4. What your charity does and who it supports

    5. Why people should support you"

If you are a fundraiser you need to update them on the following:

    1. "Where you are fundraising

    2. What you are doing for charity

    3. Who you're fundraising for (the charity)

    4. Why people should sponsor you

    5. Where people can find you on JustGiving (your page address)"

It's a model based on openness and collaboration, so its success really depends on how active the 3rd sector representatives and other fundraisisers will be. However since it is launched on the major fundraising website I can see it being potentially a great platform mapping out all impressive work for the cause.

What I really like about this platform is the fact that two seemingly unrelated companies are putting together their brains to deliver solution which will increase the visibility of many small organizations, as well as create more accurate image of so far rather closed sector. This way we will be able to see how much work is done in the UK on support of both local, as well as global issues.
