Think3 post: Their Stories: Your Message of Inspiration
Friday, July 30, 2010 at 03:44PM
The need to get to the end of the road? The hope to find answers? The actual goal, amount of money you want to raise to save many people in need? What ever is the cause it is amazing to see people joining your efforts in any given way. What Lance Armstrong accomplished so far in raising money through his project LiveStrong aiming to support the fight with cancer is truly remarkable. However he does not stop! His newest campaign impressed me with brilliant creative ideas, technical execution and simply human touch to the virtual engagement.
The Chalk bot landing page allows anyone to upload an inspirational message to Lance, which might be potentially printed on the path of his next challenge - Tour de France. It's a sponsored campaign, but the brand behind it is not very loud about themselves, which makes it even nicer. Not only that your message might be displayed on Lance's road to next achievement, it will automatically be featured on the site with specific location too. Just navigate over to read great, heart moving messages there, on one map.
The public engagement does not stop here though. Once you submit your story together with your e-mail address you will receive an e-mail confirmation of your 'inspirational donation':
"Thank you for submitting your message of inspiration. If your message gets printed on the roads of France, you will be sent another email at that time. [...] Share your message via the links below. And thank you for choosing to LIVESTRONG."
At the bottom of this e-mail you can also find the YouTube recording of Lance's personal message to each supporter:
I think it's a brilliant idea to engage each of us in such a creative way! You might think it is a small project, but the idea of this branded exercise should be use as a case study for any other fundraising or on-line donor management campaign. It uses our natural reactions, willingness to take part, to converse. It combines different channels of communication. It simply works!
